چکیده

The aim of this work is to optimize biogas production from thermophilic dry anaerobic digestion (AD) the organic fraction municipal solid waste (OFMSW) by comparing various operational strategies reduce ammonia inhibition. A pilot-scale plug flow reactor (PFR) operated semi-continuously for 170 days. Three scenarios with different feedstock, namely solely OFMSW, OFMSW supplemented structural material, and altered have an optimal carbon-to-nitrogen (C/N) ratio, were tested. Specific (SGP), specific methane (SMP), rate (GPR), bioenergy recovery evaluated assess process performance. In addition, stability was monitored highlight problems, digestate characterized utilization as fertilizer. material revealed unbalanced content C N. concentration decreased when C/N ratio tested reduced 72% if compared feeding OFMSW. such conditions, obtained, operating loading (OLR) equal 12.7 gVS/(L d). particular, SGP result 361.27 ± 30.52 NLbiogas/kgVS, GPR 5.11 NLbiogas/(Lr d), potential energy 8.21 0.9 MJ/kgVS. Nevertheless, showed accumulation heavy metals low aerobic stability.

Optimization of Process Parameters Affecting Biogas Production from Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste via Anaerobic Digestion

The aim of this study was to obtain the optimal conditions for biogas production from anaerobic digestion of organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) using response surface methodology (RSM). The parameters studied were initial pH, substrate concentration and total organic carbon (TOC). The experimental results showed that the linear model terms of initial pH and substrate concentratio...

Evaluating inhibition conditions in high-solids anaerobic digestion of organic fraction of municipal solid waste.

High-solids anaerobic digestion (HSAD) processes, when applied to different types of organic fractions of municipal solid waste (OFMSW), may easily be subjected to inhibition due to organic overloading. In this study, a new approach for predicting these phenomena was proposed based on the estimation of the putrescibility (oxygen consumption in 20 h biodegradation, OD(20)) of the organic mixture...

A comparative technology assessment of the anaerobic digestion of an organic fraction of municipal solid waste

Anaerobic digestion is the biological degradation process of organic matter under anoxic conditions, with production of methane and inorganic by-products, including carbon dioxide. Over the past years, many studies on anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) have been carried out at a laboratory, bench and pilot scale. This work aims to summarize the main fea...

Dry-thermophilic anaerobic digestion of organic fraction of the municipal solid waste: focusing on the inoculum sources.

The effect of inoculum source on anaerobic thermophilic digestion of separately collected organic fraction of municipal solid wastes (SC_OFMSW) has been studied. Performance of laboratory scale reactors (V: 1.1 L) were evaluated using six different inoculums sources: (1) corn silage (CS); (2) restaurant waste digested mixed with rice hulls (RH_OFMSW); (3) cattle excrement (CATTLE); (4) swine ex...
